EVERY WOMAN HAS HEALTH NEEDS THAT CHANGE THROUGHOUT HER LIFETIME

MAINTAIN A HEALTHY BALANCE FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY DURING PREGNANCY

As your body goes through the tremendous amount of change to accommodate life, routine chiropractic adjustments help prepare it for the various stages of pregnancy and the process of giving birth. Using the safe and effective Webster Technique, Dr. Steinys helps your body by creating a state of balance in your spine and pelvis. Adjustments help support your central nervous system and can relieve lower back pain commonly caused by your shifting center of gravity and posture as your baby grows.

Your baby will benefit from regular adjustments throughout pregnancy as well. Your baby will have more room to move during its nine months in utero. By aligning your pelvis, your baby can more easily move into the optimal birth position–which can help with a faster, easier labor and delivery.

Dr. Steinys may also recommend specific exercises, soft tissue massage, muscle-release (myofascial) release or acupuncture to help your body feel its best while you carry your baby.

WHAT WOMEN SAY

“ I went to see Dr. Steinys a couple of days after my due date. According to my OB, I was waaaay far off from delivery....Saw her at around 5 pm. The next morning,
I woke up feeling achy and stayed home from work... Around 4 pm
my water broke...Less than ten hours later, at 1:30am
, baby in my arms!”

ADJUSTING TO YOUR POSTNATAL BODY

After you have a baby, you are considered postnatal – even after you are released from follow-up care with your OB/GYN or midwife. There is no timeframe to this phase. You have to rest, recover and teach your body how to move in optimal functioning patterns. Your body does not automatically “reset” to the pre-pregnancy state because you’ve lost weight or started back into your regular workout routine. You need intentional training on breath, core, and movement through chiropractic and physical therapy work.

PROMOTING FERTILITY WITH GENTLE CARE
THE BEST WAY TO CARE FOR YOUR FAMILY IS WHEN YOU FEEL YOUR BEST.

You know how airlines instruct parents to put an oxygen mask on themselves first, before placing one on their child? The same thinking applies to everyday life as a parent. Only when you take care of yourself can you truly care for others who depend on you. It’s tough to balance taking care of your family and taking care of yourself. But your body needs you. Try to make time to come in for chiropractic adjustments, body-work, nutrition and exercise guidance.

Your body is a complex system that works best when your physical, emotional and spiritual selves are balanced. If you are experiencing challenges with fertility, we start by evaluating all of you. We have many tools–chiropractic, physical therapy, nutrition, massage, and acupuncture. With gentle adjustments to your spine, we can stimulate the nerves that control the reproductive organs and help them operate optimally. We work with patients individually or with reproductive endocrinologists (fertility specialists). Wherever you are in the fertility process, we can help.

PMS IS REAL, AND WE CAN TREAT IT

Physical or emotional symptoms of PMS (premenstrual syndrome) can start 1-2 weeks before getting your period and include but are not limited to, cramps, breast tenderness, acne, sleeplessness, bloating, irritability or mood changes. These monthly symptoms can be annoying or downright disruptive to a woman’s life. Acupuncture, the chiropractic adjustment, and diet can often help with the intensity and duration of these symptoms. The chiropractic adjustment stimulates the nerves   reproductive organs and helps them operate at a regulated state. Acupuncture stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system that helps control the reproductive cycle. Using both chiropractic and acupuncture can help alleviate some of that discomfort.

MENOPAUSE – LIFE BEYOND THE REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE

Congratulations! You made it to the pinnacle of female healthcare—menopause. Natural menopause normally occurs in women between the ages of 45 and 56. On the plus side, you’re no longer experiencing PMS symptoms. The not-so-great news is that menopause comes with its own set of symptoms. Some are more common such as hot flashes, sleeplessness and mood changes. But some women also experience vaginal dryness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, fatigue, aches and pains, headache or palpitations.

Fortunately, acupuncture, the chiropractic adjustment, and dietary recommendations can help the body adapt to this change in hormones and symptoms to make this transition easier. The chiropractic adjustment stimulates the nervous system, which controls the reproductive organs and hormone production to help optimize their functions. Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system, which helps normalize the body’s reproductive system. Nutritional recommendations are based on the needs of each person. We recommend a low inflammatory diet to counter the changing levels of the body’s hormones.
