THERE'S A LOT ON YOUR MIND WHEN YOU WORK. PAIN SHOULDN'T BE.

On average, Americans work between 40-60 hours a week. Actions that would otherwise seem innocuous become a cause for pain and injury when performed for prolonged periods every day. We help treat work-related pain and injury, plus we offer tips to work healthier so you can actually enjoy the work you do.

Chiropractic Adjustment

Diversified chiropractic technique is the primary treatment we use at Core – a quick adjustment applied to joints to instill motion, stretch surrounding muscles and stimulate the nervous system. Studies show this a safe, effective way to keep your body properly aligned. Go to acatoday.org for more information about our industry’s highest standards for patient care.

Sports Rehabilitation

Whether you’re a pro athlete or weekend warrior, you owe it to your body to come to Core. Regular chiropractic maintenance can relieve muscle strain, increase flexibility, keep your body aligned and lower your risk of injury. We work to maintain the integrity of your joints & muscles so you can stay active longer.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesio tape is a latex-free elastic tape placed on the skin to treat muscle disorders and swelling. The tape helps facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It promotes lymphatic flow and healing, decreases pain and inflammation, enhances athletic performance and prevents injury.

There are hundreds of ways to apply Kinesio tape. We first evaluate your needs and apply the tape specifically for you. Learn more at kinesiotaping.com

Massage

Massage helps restore function to muscles and joints. If you stress your body physically through sports, bad posture or repetitive motion at work, regular massage therapy can help prevent injury. Massage therapy alleviates muscle tension and pain, lowers your blood pressure and eases stress. There are countless benefits from regular massage including improved circulation, flexibility, even your mental health.

We provide Clinical Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, and Prenatal Massage. All of our massage therapists are licensed by the state of Illinois.

Dr. Steinys is certified in Graston technique, a deep tissue, instrument-assisted massage. Go to grastontechnique.com for more information.

Class 4 Laser

The latest technology in healing and wound care: Class 4 Laser treatment, similar to the light therapy, offers a reduction in pain, inflammation, arthritis, injuries and so much more. Class 4 lasers can penetrate tissue deeper, offering quick results. FDA approved.

Light Therapy

FDA-approved “cold laser” therapy has been approved to treat tissue injury and pain. The wavelength frequency works on the cellular level to speed up the growth of healthy cells and promote healing. Circulation is stimulated, swelling is decreased, and collagen synthesis is increased. This therapy is effective in treating most types of tissue injury such as muscle sprain/strains, carpal tunnel syndrome, disc herniation, etc.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Also referred to as interferential current, `stim’ refers to short electrical impulses targeted to injured muscles to decrease pain and relax muscles. The stimulation feels like a micro massage in the muscle. As an added benefit—endorphins, the body’s own `pain relievers,’ are released during the treatment.

Ultrasound

A therapeutic frequency of sound waves is applied to the injured muscle, joint, or

ligament/tendon to increase circulation, decrease inflammation and swelling.

Joint Mobilization

Joint mobilization is a less forceful method of inducing motion into joints. Dr. Steinys gently moves your joints into their normal range of motion providing relief and mobility.

Orthotic Casting

Feet are the foundation of your body. With 26 bones, 33 joints and over 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments, the feet are a complex system of joints that determine how weight is distributed through the rest of your joints. Walking, running, jumping or standing, joints absorb the weight of your body against gravity. Often, pain from your feet can be felt in the ankles, knees, hips or lower back.

If weight is not properly transferred up from the feet, the point of impact, custom shoe orthotics can help cushion, support, absorb shock and ease pain. Dr. Steinys is able to cast your feet to create orthotics that match your unique construction. A treatment plan that includes the chiropractic adjustment, exercises and orthotics can help bring your feet, and the rest of you, some relief.
